The following is a short glimpse into A Day in the Life of a Clothing Manufacturing Agent.
Over the past nine years, CMA Bali have been assisting fashion brands from all over the world to help them ethically and affordably manufacture their clothing here in Bali. We manufacture a massive range of clothing styles for our clients including, but not limited to: board shorts, bikinis, children’s clothes, blouses, skirts, dresses, pyjamas, yoga wear, gym wear, swimwear, active wear, knit wear, hats, tote bags, and more. No matter what request we get from our clients, we always do our best to help meet all of your needs through utilising our excellent team of fabrics suppliers and clothing manufacturers.
Now this sounds like a lot of work; taking on hundreds of clients at the same time, and that is because it is. Being a clothing manufacturing agency is not a simple task to be taken lightly. The managing of multiple productions simultaneously, encompassing thousands of garments, within a network of 54 clothing manufacturers and countless fabrics suppliers takes a lot of hard work, focus, and organisational skills. What follows now is a day in the life of a clothing manufacturing agent. This will hopefully give you some idea of what is involved in the production and manufacturing of your clothing.
A Day in the Life of a Clothing Manufacturing Agent
Our day starts off around 8:00am with a review of what productions are in the pipeline. We review all incoming emails from both existing and new clients as well as new tech packs being submitted all the time. Our Client Services team are receiving a minimum of 45 new enquires per day which we respond to via email, phone, and Skype. We find that in-person calls allow us the ability to answer numerous queries in a shorter timeframe. Time is valuable and it is something we cannot produce more of; creating efficiencies in the business is necessary.
We then assess the productions on the go and in the cue to see what locations our suppliers and manufacturers are and where we need to be at a specific time of the day. As we work with over 50 different clothing manufacturers; no two days are ever alike.
After the review of what the day holds, we head to the manufacturers and suppliers. We are fortunate for being given a dedicated work space in all 53 of the factories we work with which allows us to be fully on top of the production at every moment. This is very beneficial especially for quality control as it allows us to be present in reviewing what stage the production is in and keeping each of our clients apprised of the progress of their productions.
Throughout the day we move between various manufacturers and various suppliers because each of our Production Managers have around 80 to 120 active client productions within multiple different manufacturers.
By midday, we’re generally eating on the fly from withing one of our partner factories. There isn’t a whole lot of time to sit around so we tend to be on emails or WhatsApp with our clients as we send them updates, provide quotes, communicate with suppliers, or coordinate with our in-office customer care teams.
The traffic in Bali is generally a nightmare so it takes some creative driving and finding new connecting roads that cut some of the travel time down.
By the end of the day, we’ve all met each of the manufacturers and suppliers that are handling our clients’ productions. We’ve sent an unbelievable number of emails and WhatsApp messages, had countless calls, and some of us even head out to industry events.
So now you’ve read a bit about A Day in the Life of a Clothing Manufacturing Agent. For all of us at Clothing Manufacturing Agent Bali, it’s all amazing because we love the world of fashion and clothing manufacturing. Plus, who wouldn’t want to live in paradise doing what they love – I know right!
